Weekend @ The Beach With Our New Friends! :)

Do you know how excited I am to be typing the word "friends"??  I have been secluded and alone down here for far too long!  Our new friends A and M invited Hubby and I to the beach on Saturday.  Little did we know that they were planning on giving us a grand tour of our entire area - short cuts for Hubs to take to get to work quicker (and avoid traffic), two of the main beaches, great restaurants, and a drive down Bayshore (people like the executive of Coca Cola live on this street).  It was a blast.  It was Hubby's first time on an actual beach (we decided the one on base didn't really count since it was icky water).  We went to St. Pete Beach, which is on the gulf so as you can probably imagine, the water was beautiful.  Crystal clear and the most gorgeous tealy blue color you can imagine.  It was high tide so the beach itself was covered with shells; very pretty, but not so easy on the footsies ;-P








I love the beach.  Even when we would vacation when I was younger, we would always set aside an entire day to spend at the beach.  I just feel so calm and relaxed and happy there.  I'm oblivious to the hundreds of people around me and go into my own happy place.  I was telling Hubby that I would sell all of my belongings in a heartbeat to buy a pop-up tent and just live on the beach.  He wasn't too gung-ho about that idea, but maybe when we retire it could become a possibility :)


These are the view from the restaurant we had dinner at called Whisky Joe's.  It was literally on the water.  So beautiful!

After putting my website watermark on all of these pictures, I couldn't help but thinking about how stinkin' lucky Hubby and I are to have scored this base as our first assignment.  I mean, this is a vacation spot - people spend oodles of money to come here each year and we LIVE here!  As much as I may miss my family (and believe me, I really really really do) I would be lying if I said that I wasn't 100% in love with this place!
