7 Questions Gentri Lee Link up

My funny photo:
From Senior trip back in the ol' high school days - don't hate!

1.  If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
Being able to teleport like in the movie Jumper where all he has to do is think about some place and he automatically is teleported there.  As for why, who wouldn't want to be able to go see their family on the drop of a dime?  Or go to Hawaii for the afternoon?  Or visit the Eiffel tower one morning and finish off the day scuba diving in Australia?

2.  If you could hold the world record for something, what would it be for and why?
World's best hula hooper!  I used to show kids up back in elementary school when we would have hula hooping contests - I would always win!  Not to sound cocky or anything... ;)  Who ever got set a world record by being modest, anyhow?

3.  What is the weirdest thing you've ever eaten?
I'm a pretty picky eater...the most adventurous thing I've ever eaten though is the Lebonese dish kibbeh, which contains raw lamb meat.  I've tried chicken hearts and gizzards as well...definitely no deal on those - totally a texture thing.

4.  Where would you hide something if you didn't want it to be found?
Somewhere in the black hole of my office.  Or heck, maybe even our Tupperware cabinet since no one can ever seem to find anything in there either :)

5.  What is one of your Spring and/or Easter traditions?
We always have the entire family over for a late lunch/early dinner of ham and turkey...Hubby and I will have to start our own festivities this year, though.  More ham for me!

6.  Would you rather have to make all of your own clothes (including patterns), cook dinner from scratch every night, or walk everywhere you want to go?
Well, considering we are 10 minutes away from the nearest grocery store and 45 minutes away from base, somewhere I go relatively regularly, I'd have to say no thank you to walking everywhere.  Not to mention that there is a lazy fatty inside of me who thinks it's fun to periodically remind me that I will never escape her and her demanding cravings for chocolate, fried foods, and avoidance of exercise.  I'd have to go with cooking from scratch every night...good thing Hubby is a garbage disposal and can stomach just about anything!

7.  What is your most embarrassing moment?
The most recent was at Hubby's father's Air Force retirement ceremony.  He had asked me (more like conned me into) if I would sing the national anthem at the ceremony and I, very reluctantly and regretfully, agreed.  I love singing - whether it is in the car, with a choir, or with a group of people.  But I'm afraid that my career as a soloist may never take off with this little mishap on my record...something about standing all alone in front of a bunch of strangers and being asked to speak, let alone sing, freaks me out.  Like to the point where my knees are shaking and I feel like I can't breathe.  So I attempted to sing the national anthem, choked, sounded like I had something caught in my throat, missed probably 3/4 of the notes, and have never forgotten the humiliation and embarrassment I felt as I returned to my chair and the ceremony commenced.  Even just typing about it still gives me that feeling of shame.

  1. Yikes! I'd rather eat chicken heart and gizzard than sing in public! I feel your pain!!!

  2. I bet people like you enough to not judge you for messing up singing! Also half the people there probably weren't paying attention. That's my experience...not that I've ever sang in public but stilL! Good job for facing your fear though!

  5. I'm going to have to agree with MeghanSara on this one. I am a fairly picky eater myself and I'd rather choke down a chicken gizzard *barf* than sing in public. I'll sing (terribly) everywhere else though, in the car, in the shower, but you get me in front of people and I barely want to talk!
Good job for just DOING it!
And the Tupperwear cabinet, oh geez. I can spend 10 minutes in ours looking for things that match. My husband opens it up and the first two things he grabs match. Go figure! Lol.
Also, love that pic. Ha ha.
