A Crash Course in USAF Basic Training |
Your significant other has decided to join the Air Force. After (in some cases) months of going back and forth and over paperwork time and time again with the recruiter, as well as attending DEP calls, you are finally given a date in which your loved one will depart for their training. These 6 weeks will very well likely be the toughest of your significant other’s life: many trials and tribulations await them. Countless obstacles, both physical and mental, must be overcome in order for them to earn the title of a United States Airman.
I’d like to walk you through the process of basic training
on the spouse’s side – I wish that there was something like this available when
my husband left for BMT. It really was a
time of extreme unknowns for me – it was, no kidding, overwhelming to the point
of being scary! I’ve decided the best
way to organize this is through a series of individual posts which I will link
to below. As always, do feel free to
make any comments/add anything that you think I have missed or of course ask
questions!
Lesson 1: Before Basic
Lesson 2: Important Spouse Information
Lesson 3: Contact With Your AB
Lesson 4: The New Life of Your Airman
Lesson 5: BMT Graduation Week
